1989年從以色列希伯來耶路撒冷大學獲獸醫博士后,Ofri博士赴美國佛羅里達大學獸醫學院繼續攻讀比較眼科學理學博士學位。
1994年回以色列母校任教,2016年晉升正教授。
2009年-2010年赴美國加州大學戴維斯分??妥淌?。
2005年獲歐洲獸醫眼科學會專家資質認可。教授高年級獸醫專業學生臨床眼科學課程。擔任歐洲獸醫眼科協會(ESVO)前主席。
目前是日本和韓國獸醫眼科學會的名譽顧問和榮譽會員。擔任全球三十余專業刊物的編委

The Koret School of Veterinary Medicine
The Koret School of Veterinary Medicine, Israel’s only veterinary school, was founded in 1985. It was established by Prof. Kalman Perk. The school is part of the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Since its foundation, it has become a viable and dynamic school, offering a four year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program. The Koret School is located both on the campus of the Faculty of Agriculture in Rehovot and at the Veterinary Teaching University Hospital campus in Rison Le Zion.
The goals of the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine are to educate and train highly qualified veterinary students, with special emphasis on the specific needs of Israel, so that they will be able to meet the present and future challenges of the veterinary profession. The Koret School also offers post-graduate and continuing education programs for local and new immigrant veterinarians. In addition, research in basic sciences and clinical veterinary medicine is conducted. The Koret School has a special responsibility to provide professional practical, ethical and educational support. Now, more than ever, as veterinarians are called upon to manage many health and environmental problems in underdeveloped countries, the Koret School is committed to serving as the country’s major referral center for veterinarians and to maintaining a center of unique excellence in veterinary medicine in the Middle East.
Graduates of the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine go on to practice veterinary medicine and care for pet animals, livestock, horses and poultry. Other occupations open to Koret School graduates include veterinary research, the provision of regulatory veterinary services, food and hygiene inspection and regulation in municipalities and food production, veterinary services for the police and army, promotion of animal welfare, and veterinary care and management of wildlife.

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine is the heart of the Veterinary School and the site at which the students receive their clinical training.
The hospital receives patients directly from the public and referral cases from veterinarians.
An emergency service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Of the total number of >12,000 cases received each year, more than 75% are referral cases from veterinarians around the country.
This hospital is unique in that it is the only hospital in Israel with modern facilities and equipment staffed by more than 45 veterinarians and a comprehensive range of internationally and nationally recognized specialists. The hospital has >23 internationally recognized specialists.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE:
Our aim was to generate baseline optical coherence tomography (OCT) measurements of retinal thickness in female Beagles and to determine how these are affected by meridian, eccentricity, and age.
METHODS:
Twenty-three female Beagles, including six puppies (<6 months old), six mature (1.8-8.2 years old), and 11 elderly dogs (>11 years old) were studied. Both retinas of each dog were scanned (in 4 principal meridians) using the Heidelberg Spectralis following ophthalmic examination, refraction, and sedation. In each eye and each meridian, total retinal, outer retinal, and nerve fiber layer (NFL) thickness were measured from the disc rim up to 6 mm peripherally.
RESULTS:
The canine retina is thickest dorsally and thinnest ventrally. Total retinal, outer retinal, and NFL thickness decrease progressively and significantly as a function of eccentricity. The greatest eccentricity-dependent thinning occurs dorsally. This thinning is due mostly to NFL tapering, while the eccentricity-dependent change in outer retinal thickness is more moderate, especially in the lateral meridian, possibly due to the presence of the visual streak. The retina is thickest in puppies, but there were no significant differences between mature and elderly dogs.
CONCLUSIONS:
Our results provide normative values for total, outer, and inner retinal thickness in female dogs and may facilitate OCT use in the diagnosis of canine glaucoma and inherited retinopathies.
